Qsart AH (12.5/5/40 mg) Tablet is a combination of Hydrochlorothiazide, Amlodipine and Telmisartan. It is used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension is a condition in which the force exerted by blood against the blood vessel walls is high, which increases the risk of heart complications such as heart attack and stroke (damage to the brain due to low blood supply). It relaxes the blood vessels by widening them and promotes smooth blood flow. It also increases the excretion of water and sodium, thus resulting in decreased blood pressure.

Telmisartan blocks AT, receptor causing vasodilatation and inhibits the secretion of aldosterone and adrenaline thereby reducing the stroke volume and heart rate and hence reduction in BP
Hydrochlorothiazide reduces the blood volume in return reduces blood pressure Both Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide has complimentary node of action, Teimisartan causes hyperkalemia which neutralizes the side effect of Hydrochlorothiazide of hypokalemia

Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that inhibits the entry of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle and thus causes relaxation.(vasodilatation)
Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic. Hydrochlorothiazide increase excretionof sodium and chloride in approximately equivalent amounts, as a result there is reduction in blood volume and cardiac output
Hypertension is high blood pressure that may be caused by genetic or environmental factors. Qsart AH is used in the treatment of high blood pressure, it decreases the effects of angiotensin (a hormone that narrows blood vessels), causing blood vessels to relax. This helps your heart to pump blood more freely.
Qsart AH MG Tablet is not recommended for use in pregnancy as it can harm your developing foetus. Hence, consult your doctor before using this medicine.
It is not known whether Qsart AH MG Tablet passes into breastmilk or not. Hence, it is not recommended for use while breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
