Qsart β25 blocks the vasoconstrictor and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II by selectively blocking the binding of angiotensin II to the AT, receptor in vascular smooth muscle and adrenl gland. It is a partial agonist of PPAR receptor and thus reduce glucose, insulin and triglycerides level. It has Higher affinity for AT, receptor Metoprolol is a beta 1-selective (Cardo selective) adrenergic receptor blocking agent.

Beta blocking activity of metoprolol results into:

• 1. Reduction in the heart rate and cardiac output at rest and upon exercise,
• 2. Reduction of systolic blood pressure upon exercise
• 3. Reduction of reflex tachycardia

Uses of Qsart β25

In Stage II Hypertension (high blood pressure)

It is given to adults whose blood pressure is not controlled by telmisartan monotherapy.

To be used as directed by your physician.

One tablet daily

Warnings for special population

Pregnant and lactating women should avoid using this tablet it may lead to fetal toxicity.

Alters potassium levels hence patients taking potassium supplements should intimate doctor before consuming the tablets.
